Winter Weather Reminders

A few important reminders now that the cold weather is here to stay. 

Entry & Exit
It is very important that all swimmers and parents are ONLY entering and exiting the building using Door #29. This door is scheduled to open and close for our access only. NO ONE should use Door #41 at any time.  This is especially important as basketball season is currently getting underway and that door is used for practices and games.  This keeps our swimmers away from all the high school athletes in the hallway and allows parents the ability to enter the building without paying entry fee, as door #41 is where they set up admissions for games for basketball and more. Thank you for your understanding.

Additionally, swimmers need to wait inside the building until they see their ride. It is too cold for them to be waiting outside. Please remind them to stay inside until they see you.

Weather Related Cancellations
While it has been a mild winter so far, it is important to know what happens during severe weather. In the event of severe weather, Delta will follow the lead of Oswego East High School & SD308. If SD308 cancels school & after school activities due to weather, we will be required to cancel practices as well. As soon as we receive confirmation from the district, we will post the information on the practice calendars, send an email and post on fb. If OEHS/SD308 allow us to operate a practice we will endeavor to do so. Please use your best judgement as to the weather and your family's travel needs during periods of inclement weather in the decision on whether to attend or not.  The Practice Calendars and email will always be your best source of last minute changes.  

Winter Weather Attire

The coaches have already been reminding swimmers to dress appropriately for the weather and checking them as the leave the pool...some have been and some have not been. It is cold when swimmers are coming to and leaving practice so it is officially time for our friendly reminder about proper weather dress. 

  • ALL swimmers MUST be dressed appropriately in order to leave the pool after practice. This is a NON-NEGOTIABLE.

It is important for swimmers to come and leave practice in WARM clothing with MANY layers.  Swimmers have plenty of time after practice to take their time to dry off and use the locker rooms to change as needed, before getting dressed to head home. They should be dried off, have clothes on and have their jacket zipped up and a hat on and their hood up. We are seeing too many swimmers trying to leave the pool without being properly dressed for the weather. 

PLEASE help remind your swimmers to dress appropriately. The coaches would REALLY REALLY appreciate it!
