2011-12 Short Course Season
Delta Aquatics is one of the most dynamic swimming programs in the state! The team is located at Oswego East High School Aquatic Center on the corner of Wolf's Crossing Road and Harvey Road in Oswego, IL. Delta Aquatics offers a program for all ages and ability levels.
DELTA practice is offered five-six days a week to make it convenient for younger athletes involved in other activities and sports to go to practice on a consistent basis. The DELTA coaching staff is encouraging and very supportive of swimmers that participate in other activities, especially at a young age. New swimmers are recommended to practice approximately 3 nights per week depending on group placement. DELTA also offers the most convenient practice times and the most available pool time in the area, as well as the best lane space and coach-to-swimmer ratios in the entire area.
The cost to be on Delta Aquatics is based upon the group your child is placed in. The DELTA fee structure is very competitive and very affordable with no hidden costs. DELTA offers flexible payment plans that spread out over the course of the season. With a professional and experienced coaching staff, a first-class facility, convenient practice times and excellent lane space, DELTA offers the best value for your dollar of any program in the area.
DELTA offers coaching excellence and consistency, along with six graduated integrated training groups ranging from novice to elite levels of swimming. MOST OF ALL, DELTA AQUATICS OFFERS GREAT TEAM SPIRIT AND FUN!

Do you have questions about Joining Delta?
Our FAQ's are just for you!
STEP #1 - LET US KNOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRYOUT
Swimmers wishing to join the team must go through a tryout by the Delta coaches. Swimmer tryouts for the Long Course season are held in the middle of March; swimmer tryouts for the Short Course season are held in the middle of July.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Delta Aquatics, let us know! We can make sure all of your questions are answered before coming in for your tryout. Complete our online form to let us know you are interested and plan to attend tryouts.
**ALL SWIMMERS PLANNING ON TRYING OUT FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON MUST COMPLETE THE ABOVE ONLINE FORM!
STEP #2 - ATTEND NEW SWIMMER TRYOUTS
To make the team, swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke without stopping and not be afraid to put their face in the water. If coming from our lessons program, they must be in Levels 8, 9 or 10. If a swimmer is proficient & legal in all four strokes, he/she is eligible to be placed in a more advanced group. Swimmers will be placed, by the experienced opinion of a coach, in a group where they have the highest potential to succeed.
All new swimmers AND
those who did not swim with Delta Aquatics during the 2010-2011 Long Course Season must attend a tryout and register as new swimmers.
Anyone who is interested in trying out for Delta Aquatics, you need to come to TWO of the tryout dates, see below for more information. We look forward to seeing you there!
When: August 14-15, 2011
Where: Oswego East High School Pool - Enter through Door 27
Time: 5:00-5:45pm
(Please complete the and bring it with you.)
*We will also have a parent meeting on the second evening during tryouts to give a brief overview, answer questions and give information regarding the tryout process.
What should I wear?
Swimmers must come to the tryout ready to swim. This includes:
Proper swim training attire. Baggy shorts or "beach wear" are not acceptable. Call or email if you are unsure what this means.
Goggles and a swim cap, if hair is at or past shoulder length.
Towel
What should I bring?
Besides your suit, cap, goggles and a towel, please also print and complete the following paperwork and bring it with you to your tryout. New Swimmer Evaluation Form
What should I expect?
Your swimmer will be in the water 25-30 minutes, please allow enough time before the tryout to turn in the New Swimmer Evaluation paperwork so they can get in on time. Tryouts will determine if the child is ready for organized competitive swim training. They are comprehensive and can be physically stressful. All activities are age appropriate and simulate what athletes will experience in actual workout sessions. Swimmers will be notified via email and our web site within 48 hours of the completion of the second day of tryouts whether or not they made the team. The coaches will be available to talk with you about the program and group placement after the second day of tryouts.

If you can not make our scheduled Tryout Nights, you can still tryout for the team. However, some of our groups may have availabilities, while other groups are at capacity. Therefore, registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis and swimmers may be placed on a waiting list. Contact Coach Jessica to arrange a time to stop by the pool. We will evaluate your swimmer, give them a group placement and answer any questions you may have.
STEP #3 - COMPLETE NEW SWIMMER REGISTRATION
Beginning in March 2011, if your swimmer has attended tryouts and been placed into a practice group, you will be able to register to become a member of Delta Aquatics. All registration details will be emailed to the email address you provided on your new swimmer form prior to the opening of new member registration. You must complete the registration process with payment to insure your place on the team and before your child can begin practice.
We anticipate all or most of our practice groups reaching maximum capacity. Due to our intense focus on technique, balance, training regimen, and maintaining our low coach/swimmer ratio -- we will be required to create a waiting list for each practice group once a group is filled.
Transfer
If your swimmer is transferring from another local team, we ask that you talk to your former team about the issues prompting your change before making a decision to join Delta. While we believe that we offer an outstanding program, we also wish to be good citizens of USA Swimming and maintain our good relationships with the other teams.
